Do you know the workflow of sludge filter press?

Filter press is also called plate and frame filter press, plate and frame filter. It is widely used in many industries, such as chemical industry, sewage treatment, mineral slurry, drilling, etc., but because we are directly related to the use of sludge dewatering from sewage treatment plants, we verbally call it a sludge filter press.

The sludge filter press consists of several polypropylene filter plates, which are squeezed together under the high pressure of the pressing unit. Then inside these filter plates is a hollow filter chamber, surrounded by a filter cloth. When the filter press feed pump applies pressure to make the sludge enter the filter chamber, a "filter cake" can be formed in the filter chamber, and the filtrate flows into the drainage channel through the filter cloth. When all the filter chambers are completely full, the sludge feed stops. The filter press can then be turned on and the solid cake removed, and a new filter press cycle can begin.

In order to fill the filter press into a filter cake, a stable feed pressure is required. For conventional chamber filter presses, the pressure is usually between 6 and 8 kg. For diaphragm filter presses, the general pressing pressure is 12-15 kg. In the middle and late stages of feeding, it should be ensured that the pressure is continuously uniform. On the one hand, so that excessive pressure during feeding does not destroy the floc; On the other hand, a stable pressure facilitates the discharge of the filtrate. Before the end of the filter press process, because the filter chamber is filled with solids, with the vibration of the pump, the recoil pressure continues to increase, especially if a positive displacement pump is used, the pressure change should be paid more attention.
